Spring has sprung!

What a beautiful start to the year – such a lot of sunshine! I wonder why we Brits always like to open dialog with the weather?!!

We have been very busy so far this year and are having to find newer and more hidden treasure troves to raid in order to fill the shop with goodies. Luckily Matt is a master Salvage Hunter and has been collecting some really great pieces. We still have lots of wonderful finds moving in and out of our doors and are looking out for some great outside furniture and accessories for you to enjoy this summer.

We have moved house this year with two little ones crawling around our feet – no mean feat I can tell you! This has given us a great opportunity to renovate again and we are hoping to showcase our style in one of the glossy magazines before the end of the year. We will keep you updated!

February is nearly upon us and we are excited about seeing St Ives fill up with visitors again. What a wonderfully mild January in comparison to the snow of last year!! We have been lucky enough to be still supplying our local customers (and the few brave enough to take a trip to St Ives in January), with our treasured finds and have some exciting new ventures for the coming months ahead.

February will see two more CREATIVE WORKSHOPS. Button jewellery making (£15) on the 8th February and Hand-sewn Patchwork Piecing (£20) on the 15th February. These workshops are held at the shop between 7pm and 9pm and prices include materials, refreshments, great like-minded company and of course your finished product to take home. The last one in January, Needle Felting, was great fun. Thanks Nancy and Juliette for the photos of your little birds.We will be holding these CREATIVE WORKSHOPS every couple of weeks so if you have any requests, please let me know!

Our other growing service is wedding hire and design. We have been collecting beautiful pieces of crockery, cutlery, linens, candlesticks, candelabras and glassware along with various other items of interest. We can provide everything you need to build your perfect wedding and, should you wish, help you to design it .We can get as involved as you would like, starting from hand delivering all our pieces as well as collecting them afterwards, without you having to worry about the washing up! Thank you all for your continued support – April will be our third year anniversary, and we are so delighted to still be here! In these hard times we consider ourselves very lucky to still be able to do something that we have such a passion for and survive!!

Phew……busy year ahead of us! Best get back to work……….

We have renovated!…….just a few finishing touches…..

The renovation is well underway and we are excited by the new layout of the shop. Our new permanent lines leading up to Christmas will include our painted furniture range which is FLYING out the door and can be made to order, painted coat racks, a selection of interior design books dedicated to the vintage style, three ranges of vintage and vintage-style letters, which make great gifts for friends and family, and vary from £1 each to £5 each.

We also have wooden and glass vintage tree decorations, vintage board games for relaxing over the Christmas period, and a HUGE collection of wine glasses to ensure everyone can raise one on Christmas day! (Amongst masses of other exciting finds)

We have also had another delivery from Max Wildman who produces our range of In-The-Style-of Alfred Wallis paintings. We still have Armstrong and Wing’s selection of hand painted wooden signs and bunting along with Edith and Bertha’s ranges of handmade clothing, cushions and accessories.
